Legal Framework for e-Research

This project aims to analyse the legal structures for supporting e-Research by:
- surveying e-Research communities (including GRID and virtual communities)
- analysing survey data to see common practices in collaboration
- identifying best practices in collaboration; and
- mapping and continuing the development of a legal framework.

Creative Commons licenses provide a flexible range of protections and freedoms for authors, artists, and educators. CC builds upon the “all rights reserved© concept of traditional copyright to offer a voluntary “some rights reserved© approach.

Copyright Future 2010

Copyright Futures considers the issues facing copyright law in the digital age and the challenges we are likely to face in the future. As part of this project, we are interviewing international copyright experts to gain their perspectives on the future of copyright.

Opening Australia’s Archives

The Opening Australia’s Archives project is an initiative of the Centre of Excellence for Creative Industry and Innovation’s Digital Liberty research program which aims to explore opportunities to increase the public’s ability to access and reuse our national collections through coordinated sector-policy, implementation and advocacy approaches.

CCI has an ambitious research agenda organised around three themes: Creative Innovation, Innovation Policy, and Creative Human Capital.

Unlocking IP

Unlocking IP will investigate the rapidly changing relationship between public and private rights in Australian copyright law and practice, and explore options for maximising the ‘unlocking‘ of the potential uses of copyright works through sharing and trade in works involving public rights (open content, open source and open standards licensing) and through enhancement to the public domain.
